Palestinian Request Statehood

Since Israel has become an independent country America has been deeply involved in the Middle East peace process. While Israelis and Palestinians continue to brutally kill each other and commit attocities we keep calling for peace,peace and peace. My problem is that the United States should butt out of Middle Eastern affairs. The main reason we are in the Middle East is to protect our own interests. That interest is oil. With a peaceful Middle East we guarantee our supply of oil.  I believe the United States should allow this process to go forward and let Israel and Palestine battle this out. The Middle East already believe we meddle in their affairs and try to destroy their culture. Extremist want to wipe us out because of our differences and the control and atrocities we perpetrate in the Middle East. Now I want to clarify that statement. I do not condone terrorism or the individuals who perpetrate such atrocities however we use our power and strength to meddle in the affairs of government’s in the Middle East. We need to stop trying to save the world and bailing out countries in the Middle East. Part of the reason they are angry is because of the support we have given Israel. Israel is a major point of contention between us and the Arab and Muslim world. We need to allow the Arabs, Muslims and Israelis to settle their own differences.  By doing so we reduce the risk of terrorism in the United States. Now getting back to the point.  The United Nations should not intervene because when the United Nations or league of nations intervened in the Treaty of Versailles and when we helped shape the world at the Potsdam Conference it didn’t bring peace. Anger, resentment and future conflicts were created when we tried to play create a nation. Even when the United Nations recognized Israel as a state it didn’t turn out well. Look at the wars and turmoil that has occurred since the creation of the Israel State. I believe that both the governments need to work this out and the international community needs to stay out. This would ease the tension and start to rebuild the relationship we have lost with the Arab and Muslim world.
