Republicans, Democrats and the Tea Party Hijacking our Nation

Posted by on September 23, 2011

Today in Washington agenda’s are top priority. Yes during election campaigns all candidates promise that they will act in our best interest but it is all a smoke screen. Every politician in Washington has an agenda and is trying to succeed at that agenda. The problem is that our country is deeply divided in the path that we want to go. We have the path of the democrats that want to continue to fund social programs and raise taxes however does not want look into current programs to make them efficient and to cut spending that is wasteful to save programs such as social security, student aide and various other programs that we as Americans are thankful to have. The republicans on the other hand would like nothing better than to cut spending and to prevent tax increases. They believe that by giving companies tax incentives and rich individuals tax breaks that they will bring jobs into the country. Lets look at that track record. George Bush set up many tax incentives and what did many industries do they moved jobs overseas. Their greed took over because in America making money and having wealth is more prosperous than helping individuals.  Then we have the tea party a shoot off from the republicans that believe we should cut all entitlements and other spending wastes. Let me see no student loans or subsidies for assistance with low income or middle class individuals to attend college. College will only be for the rich if the tea party has their way.  It is already happening now colleges and universities are so expensive that many of the professional jobs are going to individuals who were born in other countries in which their governments subsidize or pay for education. They believe in the future but if I mention the vary idea I would be labeled a socialist. No social security or other benefits such as food stamps. When companies lay off workers or cut salaries to make a profit the poor and the middle class will suffer. They will not have a safety net. What the tea party does not realize and the republicans is that welfare programs and food stamps were meant to help people in need. They were meant to be used short term as a crutch until the individual can get back to work.  The problem is that without this safety net the middle class and poor will have no options and ultimately suffer. The rich will continue to get rich and educated while the middle class will disappear becoming poor and destitute.  If the tea party and the Republicans have their way America will go backwards to when the top 1 percent owned just about everything in America. We will become slaves to the rich. Yes this is America and I am happy with my financial situation as money does not make one happy.  I know if I put my mind to it with hard work yes I could potentially make millions of dollars but if the tea party and other right wing terrorists  have their way their will be no options for people like myself who are going back to school with help from the federal government so that I can better myself and help our society. This does not mean that I full on democrat I believe they too have their faults. They want to continue spending without funding it causing our national debt to go up and the United States dollar to be weak.  What needs to be done is that both parties need to stop the partisan garbage that is going on. They need to set aside their own agendas and the agenda’s of their party and work together. The TEA PARTY members NEED to LEARN to WORK TOGETHER and COMPROMISE. I remember when Michelle Bachmann stated in the press that she does not compromise. Washington is all about compromise because the United States is not made up of the same beliefs. The good thing about living in a free economy is the freedom of speech and beliefs. With so many different beliefs and differences all parties need to learn to compromise. In life we may not get we want but by compromising and making a deal that moves this nation forward is a success. The behavior that we are witnessing in Washington currently is childish. The Republicans do not like the president and the democrats so they are trying to sabotage any deals going through. The Tea Party is sabotaging the Republican party in compromising with the Democrats. The democrats themselves are sabotaging themselves by not working with President Obama and trying to assist in balancing the budget. Their political party agenda’s and their selfishness are causing our great nation to crumble. They need to get over themselves and start working together because with team work we can heal this nation. The saddest notion about our nation is that it takes a tragedy like 9/11 to force America to work together. Our nation has forgotten our past mistakes and continues to make the same mistake. In a way we are going backwards not forward. This troubles me because I see our great nation fracturing.  Once I was proud to call myself an American not anymore because the United States has become selfish and unwilling to compromise to move our nation forward. We have grown selfish and evil not caring for our fellow man and this shows by the actions that our leaders are portraying. Our leaders need to wake up and work together to build a better America. A fair tax system needs to be put in place that taxes income based upon how much an individual makes. Loopholes that allow corporations and business discounts on their taxes need to be closed. Other loopholes that individuals use to take advantage of the tax system need to be closed. The programs we currently have in running in Washington need to be audited. Their is waste going on and we need to streamline processes to make these programs more functional. Abuse needs to be stopped individuals who are taking advantage of social programs meant to help individual need to be stopped.  We also need to fund education better as better educated individuals mean more opportunities for jobs in the United States and abroad. We also need to look at spending in the Department of Defense and other programs that aide other countries. We need to start focusing on America and stop being the protector of the world. Let the world do its own protecting as we need to focus on Americans. We also need to focus on energy independence so that we can stop wasting our precious resources on the middle east. I know that my suggestions are not easy and would take time and money. I believe that programs need to be changed to save money however it needs to be done with a scalpel instead of an ax. I also believe that the United States needs to put in term limits for congressman and senators. By limiting the amount of time a person can be elected new blood will get into office and it will also motivate individuals who do get elected to do their best as they have a limited time to instill their legacy on the United States. This would also prevent big business and interest groups from having permanent power in government. The people would be in control again as money elects people into office. The electoral college system needs to be fixed as it may have worked years ago but a limited few actually vote the president into office. The people need to take control of Washington again. We are not in control. A group of individuals who we trusted to protect our values and ideas are abusing our trust. I also believe that congressmen and senators should have their salaries cut and pay more for health costs based upon the economy. Why should all of America have to suffer and the elite in Washington feel no pain? We as Americans need to stand up to all political parties and politicians. We need to say “NO MORE” and take back the power and authority we gave them.  We need to get rid of the liberal democrats, right wing republicans and the right wing tea-party members. Moderates who believe in compromise and moving our country forward need to be given the power to do so and to make our country great again.  If we do not do something soon we will not have a country left. Fear tactics and party politics will continue until the country is so divided that we have a civil war again.  If our founding father’s saw what we made of our country they would be ashamed by the corruption and party politics that are going on in Washington.
