I just had an argument with my current ISP. They infromed me that I can only use their servers to send out email. I pay my monthly service charges however because i’m not a business customer I cannot get it unfiltered because I cannot get a static IP. I am absolutely pissed off at this. I had ATT-SNET/COMCAST I was able to speak with them to get port 25 unfiltered for me and they were able to do so. I spoke to the tier 2 tech he told me that their is no way to do that to unfilter just my connection. LOL their are rules they can filter in to make it possible but they won’t I spoke to his supervisor told me that “He’s been here 6 years and its not possible” He then put me on a brief hold said that his sysadmin told him that its not possible and we are not going to change policy. I asked him if their is osmeone I could write a letter to or speak to to get this changed. He told me its not going to change. First of all I do not need a static IP. The lines in maine are so crappy and that verizon or whoever owns the lines won’t repair them that i get out of sync atleast once a day. I would never host anything at my house with such crappy lines. B: I don’t need a business line because I don’t use the bandwidth thats what I use my dedicated servers for. C: Its DOUBLE the cost of a residential service. I think GWI is trying to rip people off by  making people get a static IP to be able to get their services. Anyways to be the devil advocate I know that it prevents spam but generaly if a customer request spam to be unlocked they should be able to. GWI is a small company compared to  SBC and they can do it on a request basis
